Crucial’s New SSD…
Crucial has unveiled the P510 SSD at CES 2025, boasting read speeds of up to 11,000 MB/s and write speeds of 9,550 MB/s, while using 25% less power than previous PCIe 5 designs. Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, the drive is ideal for laptops where power efficiency is crucial. Despite its speed, it falls short of surpassing Crucial’s T705, the fastest PCIe 5 drive tested.
Additionally, Crucial announced a new heatsink-equipped version of its PCIe 4 P310 SSD, optimized for devices like the PS5, offering read speeds of 7,100 MB/s. Other updates include DDR5 memory modules with capacities up to 32GB per stick. The P510 will launch in spring 2025, with the new P310 available later this month. Pricing details remain undisclosed.
