New Intel Laptop Cooling…

Ventiva has introduced its Ionic Cooling Engine (ICE), a fanless cooling solution for laptops, collaborating with Intel and Dell on a prototype showcased at CES 2025. ICE uses electrohydrodynamic airflow to silently dissipate up to 25 watts of heat. Unlike traditional fan systems, ICE ionizes air molecules, creating airflow via charged particles.

The technology targets premium, thin laptops and offers near-silent operation. Critics raise concerns about potential ozone emissions and dust buildup. Ventiva addresses ozone risks with a catalytic converter using manganese dioxide to neutralize emissions and highlights ICE’s potential to act as an air quality sensor.

While Ventiva’s production capacity is currently limited, the technology has gained attention for its silent operation and efficiency, appealing to both manufacturers and consumers seeking better cooling for high-performance laptops.
