VMWare Free…
VMware has made its Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro virtual machine software free for personal use, making it easier for users to set up and run virtual operating systems on their computers. Workstation Pro is for Windows and Linux, while Fusion Pro is for Mac. Previously, many users used Oracle's VirtualBox for free virtualization, but VMware's software is more user-friendly and powerful.
This change comes after Broadcomm's acquisition of VMware last year. As a result, VMware's Workstation Player and Fusion Player software are being discontinued. These were limited versions that didn't allow full access to all features.
While the software is free for personal use, commercial users will need to buy a license key. Most professional customers have deals set up, but individual commercial users will need to subscribe for $120 a year. Using the free personal license for commercial purposes could lead to significant charges.
