Intel’s next desktop chip…
Intel unveiled its upcoming processor, Lunar Lake, at Computex, targeting mobile devices and aiming to compete with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite laptops. Despite the focus on Lunar Lake, the next desktop chip, Arrow Lake, is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger emphasized the significance of this period in the PC industry, promising over 80 partner designs for Lunar Lake. Arrow Lake is expected to be a Core Ultra processor with an integrated NPU, but details were not disclosed. Additionally, Panther Lake, another mobile processor, is slated for a 2025 release, fabricated on the 18A process with key tiles built by TSMC.
