Microsoft retreats on Recall…
Microsoft has introduced the "Copilot+" program, integrating new AI capabilities into Windows, notably the Recall feature, which raised privacy concerns due to its ability to record every user action. In response to feedback, Microsoft has made Recall optional, with clear setup options to enable or disable screen recordings. Snapshots are stored locally and encrypted, with additional controls to filter programs, pause recording, delete snapshots, and require Windows Hello for access. While some see potential benefits in Recall for memory augmentation, others doubt its efficacy and express privacy concerns. Test builds are awaited to assess Recall's performance and Microsoft's commitment to security.
